Travel Greece
The ideal way to travel in Greece, the Ionian and the Aegean islands is by your own bareboat sailing yacht or your own private crewed yacht charter. A good part of the important archaeological sites concerning the Ancient Greeks can be found along the coasts of Greece's mainland or on the thousands of islands in the Aegean Sea. Please see my travel and cruising guide.It stands to reason that transportation by sea is not only the proper way but also the most romantic way to travel Greece and the Greek islands. Furthermore, you will be able to visit many temples dating from ancient Greece and even wander through the ruins, something that is strictly forbidden on the more famous archaeological sites in the Peloponnese or near Athens (the Acropolis for instance or the Roman Agora). Also there is a good chance that you will be the only visitor, which should stir your imagination when visiting such an ancient site.
The most luxurious method to travel Greece is by blue cruises, motorsailer cruises or gulet charters, and these take place in the area of the Aegean that is literally filled with ancient culture and architecture.
